Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) segment has immense growth potential and is often referred to as the backbone of the Indian economy. MSMEs play a critical role in India’s economic growth by realizing the ‘Make in India’ mission. However, the sector also accounts for a significant portion of India’s total industrial pollution, largely due to the use of obsolete technologies and nascent management practices.
We have partnered with Foundation for MSME Clusters; Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, and Society for Energy Engineers and Managers to launch YES! to Sustainable MSMEs to support the sector in adopting best practices in energy efficiency and occupational health and safety. The initiative will enable MSMEs to integrate sustainability into their operations, reduce overall carbon footprint and improve their occupational health and safety systems.

In line with our objective of encouraging employability and entrepreneurship among youth, we have partnered with Trust for Retailers and Retail Associates of India; Friends Union for Energising Lives; Nudge LifeSkills Foundation and Tata Community Initiative Trust (Tata Strive) for service sector job oriented skill development of 25,000 youth pan India over 5 years with 30% women as target beneficiaries.
We aim to place at least 70% of the trainees in gainful employment and will track their continuation in employment for a period of one year.
The Foundation has partnered with Watershed Organisation Trust, N M Sadguru Water and Development Foundation; Development of Humane Action Foundation, Mahashakti Foundation; Humana People to People India; and Society of Indian Institute for Rural Development to promote nano enterprises with a focus on women and farmers.
